Microbiology Department at a Glance

The department of Microbiology runs UG course since 2018. Microbiology is an incredibly dynamic and rapidly evolving discipline that plays a fundamental role in various sectors including healthcare, biotechnology, environmental science, and beyond. Our department is dedicated to fostering an environment of academic excellence, scientific inquiry, and innovation in the field of microbiology. At our department, we strive to provide our students with a comprehensive understanding of microbiological principles, techniques, and applications through rigorous academic programs, cutting-edge research opportunities, and hands-on laboratory experiences. Microbiology Department has well equipped laboratory. Meritorious students are encouraged to excel in academics and secure university ranks. Department of Microbiology encourages students to participate as well as present papers in various workshops, conferences and seminars at state, national and International levels. Moreover, it conducts various visits to enable students to know about the functioning of industry places like Katraj Dairy, Poultry Diagnostic Research Center (PDRC), Wine Industry, Blood bank and many more. As well, it encourages students to become world class researcher and writers to serve microbial applications in the world. Students are guided for various competitive examinations to get career opportunities in government as well as in private sectors. Further, students are guided to write book chapters and research papers. Various competitions such as scientific rangoli making, festivals like fermented food and “Agar art” are arranged to enhance student’s interests towards subject. Our esteemed faculty members are not only dedicated educators but also active researchers who are at the forefront of discovery in areas such as microbial genetics, immunology, microbial ecology, and microbial biotechnology. Through their expertise and mentorship, our students are empowered to explore the frontiers of microbiology and contribute to advancements in the field.
